SCT Tuner 2005 V6 programming ability
Has anyone with a SCT Tuner been able to tune their 2005, V6 Mustang with the settings included in the standard tuner or did you get a message that stated
Tuner does not recognize ECU unit.
The only way I could overcome this problem was to have SCT provide custom tune files but then I lost the ability to tweak all the other parameters to optimize the tune for my car. Just want to see is any other owners have had better luck.

Did you buy this new? If so then either they programmed it with the wrong 4 digit code or you gave them the wrong one.
If you bought it used then you should have compared your 4 digit code with the person you bought the unit from.
If you send the unit to SCT they can reprogram it, not sure what they would charge for this, or one of the more popular shops MIGHT consider reprogramming it if you bought tunes from them.
Good luck

Yes I bought it new but I had to get custom tunes directly from SCT. I wanted the capability to scroll through the menu options to tweak parameters and get best possible performance for my car. I noticed that you also have an SCT tuner, do you have the ability to scroll through the tuner and tweak parameters or did you just by it with customs tunes installed?

When I program it there is a prompt to change parameters, which I do pick, but the only one I mess with is the one for tire size.
There are many others in there for shift points, idle speed, shift pressure, etc.
*** note that the option to change parameters comes up after I select the tune I want to load ***
I have the $525 deal from TI, which came with 87, 91, and 93 tunes.
I am under the impression these were done for the intake that came with the kit, and they are tuned to be "safe" for the motor (it's not being pushed to it's limits).
So far I have tried the 87 (1 tank) and 93(on my 2nd tank) tunes, going to run 2 more tanks on the 93, and then go back to 87 to see if there really is that much of a difference. The only "dyno" is the seat of the pants one, but the package made a noticeable difference in the overall performance.
