Flash tuning with a laptop
Everybodys got a laptop these days. Howcome you gotta buy a $380 handheld box to tweak your ECM? I'd think with todays technology we wouldn't be held hostage to having to buy a box. Couldn't we just buy a software package and all share tunning parametersand experience? Anybody have any thoughts or input on this?
99.99% of people don't need to be tuning on these cars, there are a lot of pros I wouldn't trust. Way too many tables to mess up, torque management, drive by wire, and more in addition to all of the standard tables that have been around for 20 years.
Okay, but you would still need software and an adapter to plug into the OBD II port. I guess you guys should look at some of the other interfaces available for other cars. You still end up spending $400 and that is without a tune and you tune yourself.
