Skymedic: Very very sharp setup!!!

Just to clarify this is not an added chin spoiler but a whole custom bumper/fascia replacement. Correct?

Thanks alot Jim, do you happen to have any quick pictures of what the bottom of yours looks like? I remember we talked about it, but I didnt save it (stupid me) and I couldnt find it using the almighty search function [8D] But yeah, Im pretty sure they baked it, I never actually got to talk to them because I had to drop off my car and leave immediately for school, so my dad handled all that. Im guessing he forgot to tell them not to bake it and thats why its happening. It doesnt seem to be getting worse, it just bugs me because you can see it really bad at certain angles. As soon as it stops raining every single day, here in the "sunshine state" Ill have to make this a weekend project and do it right.. and I may as well put on my clear corners while the bumper is off. You really used styrofoam though? Lol.. seems kinda flimsy to me, but I guess with all that glue it wont be able to go anywhere.. I told the guys at the shop about it and they said it was going to warp because it had no support, so there was nothing to keep it flat, they also said they would fix it for me if I wanted by taking a piece of 1/8" or 1/4" metal strip/sheet metal, and cut it to the shape of the bottom and then adhesive it on there.. wasnt too sure about that so I thought Id ask about what you thought first?

mvm, have you had any warping problems?

BTW, sorry for hijacking [&:]

It's not your typical white styrofoam, it's highdensity, very strong. Metal strip no way steel unless you use aluminum. A piece of sheetmetal can flex, this is 2" thick and fills the cavity; filling the cavity makes this a solid piece as opposed to simply reinforcing and what if over time that piece on metal comes loose and flies off. Sorry, I need "one and done" solutions. My solution is a solid plug for the exact problem they have spoken of "the piece has no support. The solid plug is strong, weighs nothing and has many many times over, the adhesive surface area of a metal strip. I wouldn't adhesive a piece of metal anywhere under my car. These people including CDC who are talking like this are missing the whole problem and optimal solution. (Original design should have had a corrugated lower lip so it would be strong. Also installation should have included full adhesive from behind) Go check out the pink high density foam at Home Depot you'll see what I mean. You get LiquidNails HeavyDuty adhesive on it and it cannot be removed or come dislodged.

Few more: My work, before paint and warping. Take a look at the last pic here. The fascia is upside down but you can see the upper cavity in the pic the one that needs to be filled by the hd foam. Once filled you have a solid base that cannot warp. The white line you see in that area is the adhesive that has dried. I adhesived/clamped the upper section and maintained the use of the screws there although they serve little or no purpose now. These are not visible anyway as you know.

Awesome, thanks for the help, Ill do the styrofoam instead of the metal.. the thing that worried me was that metal piece falling off and me possibly running over it.. something like that while at the track could be a very bad situation.

Exactly!!! just as I mentioned... some people don't think things through that's all. Track or steet... no adhesive metal to underside of any automobile. At least you and I know that. The job as I have mentioned is not that bad really and will allow you the chance to do more adhesive on seams if needed, do the clear corners, remove paint on stainless screws if need be (painting over is "taxi-cab" to me (lol)) ...no biggie, you can handle no problem. ...Jim
