Just installed the 93 Oct. tune from Brenspeed and I have seen a few posts that mentioned hearing pinging after loading it. So we drove it the first time with the AC and radio off and were trying to listen real close and make sure we did not hear anything but the loud exhaust makes it difficult. We could here some rattle in the dash and around the shifter boot but I really like that was all. My question is: would the pinging sound be very distinctive and noticeable or is it something difficult to discern? In particular, could it be mistaken as a dash rattle?

 

Also is there anything I should datalog just to make sure everything is good up?

 

I have the TI combo... I have been running the 93 octane tune for 2 tanks now, and I am sure I hear some pinging but only at WOT.

Yesterday for grins I loaded the 91 tune (93 in the tank), and the throttle responce is definitely less, but there is no pinging at WOT.

The 93 tune with 93 octane runs fine, the car responds great, the only issue is the pinging at WOT, which I hardly ever do anyway.

When this tank is done I am going to go back to the 87 tune just as a comparison to how the car is running now.
My gut feel is that I will be going back to the 93 tune after the test, but we'll see.
