Heated Leather Seats (new in 2007?)

RE: Heated Leather Seats (new in 2007?)
you're welcome!
It's a lot of work. I have the factory side air bags so that might have made it a little tougher. There's two pads one for bottom and one for back.
Take the seats out and then you will need to remove the "skins" form the seats (or raise/pull them up and out of the way a lot). I have been in a lot of upholstery shops so I have seen seats apart before. The hard part it gettingthe pads in the right spot and pulling the adhesive off without it getting a wrinkle. I have BIG hands so it was not all that easy for me. I had my wife help after I got started and it went better. I bought the three way temp control and placed my control under the hand brake and the pass. on the side of the console. I could send you a picture if you end up getting some and need an idea of the switch placement.
edit*** The reason it was a bit hard it I tried to leave as much of the seat together as I could. I loosened, pulled back and reached, instead of taking the covers clear off the seats.

Here's the link...(I am getting PM's asking for it!)
http://www.checkcorp.com/seat_heater/products.asp
I will get pics up tomorrow of my switch placement.
It's a raining cold icky krappy day here and I used them because it feels darn good on the back et cetera. I don't know why anyone woudl think they are only for cold climates unless they were young!

Even when i was young, I loved my heated leather seats. It got you warm on those 20 degree days before your heater actually started to work, and felt great on those long drives. And as C6 Vette mentioned, adds some refinement to our cars.
Some of you guys are so hard core RAW MUSCLE that you don't think that some people would actually like some refinement and class in their car also. I wish Mercury or Lincoln offered a version of the GT, with Navigation, dual climate control, Heated leather, heated mirrors, HID lights.. etc. I'm just wondering if you guys who bash the heated seats have ever had them before.. because once u have.. i doubt you would like to go without again..
I will also be purchasing the heated leather seat kit for my car, but i want to use the Stock 07 heated seat buttons, not the ones that come with the kit, it just looks cleaner. Please post pics of the install

I would like to see heated mirrors... dual climate wouldnt be bad either. My old car (a '93) had heated mirrors and on fall and winter days I would come outside and the mirrors would be all fogged or dewy or whatever you want to call it and all Id have to do is hit that button and 30 seconds later bingo.. much better than rolling down the window every couple minutes to wipe them with your hand IMO. I wonder if there would be a way to work the remote start with the heated seats.. that seems like it would be cool as hell.
