I had looked into that a couple of years ago. I was told that nobody would do it for legal issues. I don;t remember who or where I heard that. Probably some unquestionable authority like....the internet. From a practical perspective, here on the east coast, I guess you need to throw away all of your ice scrapers and just use the deicer spray? Too late for me......2000 miles and while the clear bra has protected the paint, the windshield is already bearing the scars of I-95.....

I have only one small chip. Route 80 in NJ is my battlefield. I swear that there was a 2" rock in the road the other day just sitting there.

Hey guy's not trying to argue here, but,as an installer with experience applying these kit's I was just trying to keep someone from buying a kit and screwing it up. As far as 3M goes....if you like orange-peel and yellowing go with it.3M know's they're problems in this field and have made the film slightly better but it's not as good as Venture. As an installer you have to sometimes stretch the pattern around curves of bumpers etc. and it doesn't stretch well. As far as someone with no experience trying to install a full kit...you better buy 2 kit's. Just my 2 cents worth and NOT trying to argue but educate.Legend GT

What are we looking at price wise to have a kit installed professionally legend? Should we go to a body shop or are there other places that can do it better? Thanks

Hi, if you go to the Venture site there's an area that will tell you the closest installer near you.To do a complete kit on a GT ,That's:,hood ,fenders ,lower and upper bumper, headlights, foglights expect to pay $500-800 (including material) .I charge $500 .It's not a 1 hour job. It takes 3.5 to 5 hours depending on the installers experience. There are alot of little do's and don'ts with this film. There are also optional pieces for the lower rockers and wheel wells. Good luck and do your homework.Make sure to get a written warranty with the job. Legend Gt

Hey thanks, do you think they would cut me a custom piece for my CDC agressive spoiler on the front or would they most likely just try and slap a stock piece on there and leave the rest unprotected?

One local shop told me that if he doesent have a template, he will just make one and trim the excess matirial.

We will see how mine goes. I have done alot of smaller sections on different cars with lots of curves with the 3m. And I have a modest heated, filtered, garage with enough light to land a 747.

I am well aware that I might trash the kit and really appreciate the advice. But considering the amount of money the local guys want for it. I figure I would take a shot at the hood and fender tips.
