Default Problem with '07 GT Shifter..any help???

i have a 2007 gt with about 2000 miles on it and the shifter is horrible. i had an '06 gt before this and it was fine. the '07 is really "catchy" and tends to get stuck over to the left in neutral. anyone know anything that can help?? dealership says nothings wrong but i have had two other people drive it and they agree with me. any help would be great

Do the throws seem shorter.....I sat in an 07 Cali special and it seemed to have a short throw shifter.....

My 07 GT has 1,300 miles and the shifter works and aligns ok, but it sounds metallic. It generally makes some noise and sounds like metal rubbing on metal - particularly 1st to 2nd.

I drove an 06 GT with 1,300 miles on it and that shifter seemed way smoother and easier to shift.

I am open to suggestions as well. Thanks.

I've been thinking the same thing... the 07 is different than my 05, "notchier" comes to mind... I'd be interested in hearing whether there's a mechanical reason for this.

My '06 shifter seems to have a similar problem. It sometimes has a hard time going from 1st to 2nd smoothly, getting jammed before goin into gear. Would love to know if theres anyway to fix the problem.

My 07 GT has 2.200 miles on it. It seems to shift very well, and I cant see any reason to change it. But take a look at the Steeda Shifter. It is built to last forever it looks like. Very big difference in the strength and quality, but I never tried one.

First upgrade I did to my 06 GT was a Steeda Tri-Ax. It's like night and day. Feels absolutely solid, like the difference between rowing in a bowl of oat meal and cocking the hammer on a smith and wesson.

I don't get what shifter you are talking about. You list a Hurst in your mods there but are you talking about that one or the stock one since you don't mention either in your original post?
