Default What gears??

hey guys,, i have a 06 mustang gt, and i want to know what gears i should get, since my car is auto i was thinking about the 3.73's. will they improve my top end or just my acceleration, and would ford install them for me even if i dont purchase the gears from them, and more or less how much would the install cost?? but what i really need to know is if the 3.73's will improve my accel and top end..... what top end (mph) would i be getting with the 3.73's?? any input is greatly appreciated..

4.10's if you are not going with a supercharger or Turbo.

3.93 or 3.73's if you are going for a turbo/super charger down the road.

i would like to get a little better acceleration, and looking to improve my top end,, i street race and rape alot of cars out of the dig, but after like 120-130, i get smoked by mach 1's and srt-4's... i would like to improve accell, and top end,, so would the 3.73's be a good choice?? any input is greatly appreciated..

thanks, tony

Stick with the 3.73's then. Most guys with the Auto Trans run the 3.73 and that is what i plan on going with myself. That way i still get decent hwy RPM and mileage while still getting improved off the line acceleration.

Keep your gear's and get a stall.
There is no other single mod save nitrous that will give you a bigger improvement.

Your acceleration will improve, but your top speed will not be quite as high, I don't know what mine tops out at with the 3:73 gear, you will get there faster. I f you do add a turbo or nos, you will need drag radials, the difference in power off the line is so great all I do is spin all the way through first gear and half way through sec. on the nos.

3.73's woke my car up nicely. Cruise RPM's is about 300 higher. Highway gas mileage has gone to sh*t.

I went from almost 25mpg to 21-22 on the highway.[:-]
