Why not buy it and install after inspection?

understandable. however the jersey state police can be a$$hole$ and would write me a ticket quicker than anything just because of my age and such. im just trying to be careful so my parents dont take my car.

You should be able to go to any inspection station, the reqired Items for checking have to be posted somewhere on site, also the inspector would have a handbook of specs and regulations that you should be able to look at.

If you get the kit from meter4it.com, you can change back to factory with just a simple jumper plug, very easy. You actually have 3 choices, "chase" (the coolest), std. sequential, and factory. A little more involved install, but worth it.

Not sure why they would be illegal. They actually give you more lights coming on than the stock system.

Yea, the requirement is generally that they light up and are functional and that you can tell the diffrence between brakes and turn signal, as far as I see it they should be legal and I have never heard or seen anything to say they were not.

Remeber police will always try to mess with younger guys moding cars, they hope you dont know the law and just pay the ticket. In anycase for a light it would usually be a fix it or repair order not a fine.

I did them and the last thing a cop told me was he liked my car so idunno

What the law says and means is not the question. It is what the police officer understands it to be, good or bad. He/she is Judge Dredd. I've got an "inspection" ticket for my fog lights (he called them hi beams) being on with the parking lights - exactly how they are wired from the factory - a 22 year old kid with a chip and a uniform - sometimes not a good combination.
