Which Suspension???

RE: Which Suspension???
First off, I'd check with Brent @ Brenspeed. If I remember correctly, he's selling the D-specs SHIPPED for about $540. That's the best deal going.
Anyway, I love the D-specs. But understand that you have conflicting goals. If you want to stop your car hopping over big bumps and you want the ride to be comfortable on rough streets, then you need to soften the shocks. On the other hand, that makes your cornering worse.
Here's another example: suppose you want to drive really fast, but you also want to haul a lot of cargo. A sports car will go fast, but it can't haul anything. A pickup truck is great for hauling things, but it's not going to drive like a sports car.
You can't have "both" a the same time. BUT, the beauty of the D-specs is that you can keep them set soft for general driving most of the time. Then, when you decide you want to go play, just go and reset the shocks to a firmer setting. It takes less than 5 minutes to change the settings on all 4 shocks.
But in the end, the 20's you've got are a big part of the issue. With 20's on your car you are going to have to live with a certain amount of ride harshness.

RE: Which Suspension???
Thanks for the reply Al, I'm gonna call Brenspeed when I get my money up to be ready to order. I want to get a CAI and tune from brenspeed too so I'll probably do it all in one shabang. It sounds like the d-specs are the best way to go since they are so adjustable. Thanks for all your help.

RE: Which Suspension???
I have Tokico D's and although they are not dialed in perfect, I have 4 turns out of them, and the thing handles like a dream. Oddly enough, the ride is not objectionable. I am quite impressed with how it rides actually. I would recommend them to anybody, no complaints at all. Oh yeah, and don't forget the adj. panhard bar, and the adj. 3rd link, as they are also vital pieces of the puzzle.

RE: Which Suspension???
Due to the potholes and the fact that you are dealing with rough roads, I believe that you would be disappointed with lowering springs. You will be limiting the suspension travel that you so desparately need for rough roads.
Here is a suggestion for you. Buy a much stiffer rear sway bar and put that on before you do anything else. You can get a 24MM rear bar for about $150 and it is VERY simple to put on. Drive it with the stiffened rear bar on the stock suspension and see what you think. If you still want to lower it which will give you a bone jarring ride on the streets you describe, then try it after that.
Good luck.
