Since I was banned from the work area I went up front and took a couple pics in the showroom.

That looks great. So you/I can order this from my local ford dealer and have them install it? Total cost was? Total time for them to install?

This shows mpg etc correct?

I ordered my stuff from Ed Olsen (link above) Total cost $587 - $300 refundable core charge so it was $287 for parts and $78 for install.

Message center is awesome. Shows a lot of stuff. Look at the driver controls section of your manual. Too many to list here. Took them about 20 minutes once they got it in the bay to install it. You'll be very pleased.

Aixer,
I followed your suggestions and was hoping for a price break. I had everything prepped and ready and they still charged me the full $78 PLUS they still left the switch hanging like I pictured. They didn't take two seconds to snap it in. Dealerships really do suck down here but whatta ya gonna do? I'm very happy with it. The message center is a BIG bonus if your main goal is getting the extra colors. I didn't know it did all that. I just skipped that section in the manual because I had the base cluster. I was surprissed to say the least at what it can show you.

Thanks very much for input. Gotta get the core back today so I can reclaim that $300.

BTW, send me a pic of the house? Are you almost done?

well i am glad it worked out. as far as the extra features. i can not stress enough all the extra stuff the message center has. i use all the features all the time. i rarely change the color. but a guess people seem not to notice that and only think of the color. glad to see you like it. and glad to help. as far as the house here is a pic its slow and go as my sons are back at school and money is getting tight.

House looks awesome!! Looks like you've added a lot of square footage. Hope you can finish up soon so you can enjoy the fruits of your labor.

I've always wanted to peek and see if I had the plug.. and thanks to amystery's pics, I finally found out where to pop the buttons out.
(Didn't realize it was a cluster)

Anyway, if this is what I need to upgrade, I'm VERY happy because I have a Deluxe stang with NO Traction Control or ABS [sm=happy046.gif]
I was under the impression that they were needed for the upgrade... perhaps some early 05's got lucky and got the plug anyway?

So, could you do this mod by yourself?? or its a definate no, and you would have to bring it in anyways? I wanna buy the gauge and the buttons, but dont know if i have to bring it in to have them do it.. BTW it looks so awesome with the extra 2 gauges and the message center.. hehe
