Ok, Let me make sure I have this right. You pop out the left cluster and if you have a wire running to it you can do this upgrade? Right? Who is this Ford dealer you guys are ordering from?

From what I've heard, Millenium Ford is who most people are going to.

Has anyone tried to install the GT cluster in place of the V6 yet?

I see in one of the links afixer attached that SRS needs to be depowered. I am guess I would need to disconnect the battery?

+1 on that question. Is that the only difference with the GT cluster?

 

I bought a brand new GT cluster off eBay w/out a core, and the switch from Ed - and he has been quite helpful with general info. I wasn't aware that there was a question if there is a plug or not on the car if you don't have ABS and T/C. Which I don't so today I popped the switch blanking cover off and I was happy to see the plug there. While I was at it I went ahead and plugged the new cluster in to see if I had to take it to the dealer, and it worked except that the ABS fails and I get an ABS light and tire pressure warning in the info center - so it looks as though I'll end up at the dealer to get the correct information uploaded.

So there is no issue with using the GT cluster on the V6. When are you going to the dealer to follow up? I would really like to know what the differences are between the GT and V6 clusters.... other than the speedo.

 

Man... I don't have the ABS or TC, so I doubt I have the cluster. Plus my fiance would not see the benefit of this upgrade vs the cost. To me, it would be a diggable new toy for sure, but it just plain looks like I'll have to overlook this one. I already got it outta my head when I bought the car knowing it was not part of it, but doggone it, my hopes were raised in this thread... until.... the no ABS or TC part.

But WTG to those who did it and those who will do it! It's pretty kewl.
