Upgraded car alarms

RE: Upgraded car alarms
I put in a python 990 alarm remote start in my car. Still working on it about a month later. Taking my time hooking it up. It is a royal pain in the @ss. A 10 on the hard scale. But it works great. Python and viper are the same alarm. Most alarms are made by directed electronics, so basically all alarms are equal just with some added extras some might not have.

RE: Upgraded car alarms
Unless you guys really want to see your car get ripped apart, make sure you mount the siren somewhere not in the open. I had my car broken into a few months ago, in broad daylight, and had all of my audio stuff stolen. The theives were ready because immediately after breaking my window, they popped the hook and cut the siren.
I now have a siren with a backup battery ready to go in. But either way, I still don't know if that'll really help. An alarm will only do you so good, and sometimes, it can even draw unwanted attention I'm sure, because why else would someone be curious to see what is in your car? I think the blinking LED that goes with most systems is a bad idea personally.

RE: Upgraded car alarms
install a cut off switch, it may not stop your car from being broken into but 99 percent of the time your car will still be there in the morning. if a bad man wants your car he's going to get it no matter what alarm you have and if he's a pro not even the low-jack will help. however a simple cut off switch, mounted inside or outside your car in a non conspicuous place will do more to protect your car from being stolen than any alarm. do it yourself for under $20 or have an alarm place do it for under $100 ( but then someone knows where your switch is[&:]) once a pro figures out he cant start the car he's not going to take the time to look in every nook and cranny in your car for a switch. some good places to mount could be under the dash or seat or outsidehidden in the grill or behind gas door, just use your imagination
