99 Trans am or 05 Sixer?

RE: 99 Trans am or 05 Sixer?
I had a 99 Trans Am, loaded with a 6 Speed. It was fun stock, but after I added a host of BMR upgrades, intake and other mods, it became a lot more fun. I was a LONG time GM guy too, but after owning my 06 Mustang GT, it's a much better car. It's more comfortable, drives better, rides better, rattles a lot less and makes me smile more than my 99 Trans Am ever did. My 99 Trans Am was VERY nice and I received compliments everywhere I went. However from a drivers point of view, the Mustang GT is the better car stock in my opinion. I would not pay $19k for a 99 Trans Am. I paid $22k for my 99 Trans Am five years ago with 13k miles on it. It's not a collectors car, though you might expect to pay more for the AE version that year.

I would be very leary about that milage being genuine. If it is, like several others have pointed out, expect a lot of leaks and other problems, cars were not built to be stored. I had a '98, fun car to drive, but a piece of crap to be honest. My t-tops never leaked, but it was a lemon. I had to replace the power antenna, the pasenger door handle (broke off in my hand as I was opening the door for my now ex), the rear exhaust hanger ( that was fun driving home with my exhaust tips at 30-40 degree angle), warped the front rotors, lost the syncros in the trans, rear end devoloped a severe clunk, all the plastic in the engine compartment warped and rattled and clunked so loud it sounded like '70s era ford front brake calipers going down a bumpy road. It had schedule a warranty repair for electrical problems when I got it home from taking delivery of the vehicle. Oh, and that god awful mystry shifter GM supplied on those cars, and that pathetic joke "Monsoon" sound system. However when it wasn't broken, it was a blast to drive.
If you have almost $20k for a car, I would try finding a used GT. JMHO.
