I can understand how ford is trying to make some money but they are really pissing all over this mans name when you can build your own Shelby. It used to be if you had a Shelby, you had HIS work, not just parts out of the FRPP catalog and some common exterior modifications. I do wish that you could have some of these parts optional for a GT off the showroom floor though.

I hate the idea!!! My car isn't going to be unique considering I have a Hurst shifter, Stripes, Hood Pins, Same Grill, Front Spoiler... Probably be mistaken for a Shelby GT, already being mistaken for the GT-H constantly even at Ford dealers lol.

I can't predict how much over sticker the Shelby GT will go for. Maybe $10-15,000? Too much in anybody's book!
But don't think a sticker price of $35-37,000 is too bad considering all the extra stuff they are adding to a $29,000 GT.
It might SEEM like too much but no, it's not too much if you'd rather have the real thing over being a poser.

I'll keep my GT and continue to mod.
Sh**, just shipping it to Shelby from Flat Rock, and then, back east will add to the sticker.
I agree the Shelby name adds $$$. BUT,.......... I think FORD will be putting the money in their pocket this time, instead of letting the dealers have the additional mark-up, like they're doing on the GT 500.
I can hear it now.......... Daddy SHELBY or Baby SHELBY, which one do you have ?
I think it dilutes the GT500's image. There should be only 1 SHELBY, with an engine option 5.4 or 4.6 That makes better sense to me. [sm=goodidea.gif]JMO

+1 The cars are built right on FORDS assembly line not Carol Shelby's , lets get real people. Both cars should be msrp, anything more is a rape.

car and driver is saying ford is licensing shelby's name and that ford will build the cars. only gt-h's will have actually have been made in shelby's shop.

consider that the magazine also said ford is planning on selling up to 10,000 shelby gt's and i don't think there is any way shelby's shop is set up to do that kind of volume.

If u guys are saying $35,000 I would say it comes out here for $38 because at the ford dealer by me they have a GT500 vert for $48,000.... with stripes and loaded...
