Get the already painted ones off of ebay or buy the xenon ones and have them painted dont paint the stock ones because of the plasticy and grain feel to it it just wont look right.
iam gettin them sometime this week or next week, linernotejunky your car looks great with it it completes what was missing
Actually if you sand them down flat the stock texture doesnt matter. Lots of people have sanded theirs down themselves and then taken them to the body shop to paint them and it saves alot of money.

Personally, I don't like the covers. You can see the edge of the mirrors and it doesn't cover the large triangular sail by the windows.

The cost of paining the mirros is only slightly more then the cost of the covers and looks much better. If you have other work being done, it may actually be much less then the cost of the covers.

IF they are prepped right, you will not see any graininess. Mine came out smooth and the color match was perfect.

Exactly. Do not paint over grainy surface, don't even ask me why. Sanding involves about 2-2.5 hours each. Sand them yourself or pay a shop $250 to $300 just for sanding and since they won't have the patience to be fussy with this they will not do as nice a job as you can/would. Save the $$ and sand them yourself; no need to leave the car at the shop, just the mirrors. If you want details on all this just let me know. You will simply love the completed look. 95% of all new models today have painted plastic mirrors(smooth); no issue with chipping, etc. that's simply "bull" if the shop does a quality base, CC job. yeah adhesion promoter is required but I can tell ya all about that if you wish.

There's nothing in aftermarket that looks right to me. JMO. ...just finish what Ford didn't get around to. No big deal....

These painted covers are on sale w/ free shipping, in case you don't want to spend all that time modifying an original part of your car:

those painted covers dont cover the front/inside part of the mirror though - so from the drivers side you'll see where you decided to do a half *** job.

If you guys got your mirors painted why not the trim around the window?? I really think it makes it look finished.
