painted mirrors
i'm been enjoying reading about and seeing your cars, for about a month or so, i've seen things about sanding the mirrors and painting them to match the car, i was wonding how hard this was to match up. please let me know and show some pics so i can see if it looks as good as i think it would. thanks

RE: painted mirrors
it looks great. did you do the work yourself? if so, did you talk to the shop 1st. to find out how much prep you had to do. what about the paint sticking to them anything special for that?

RE: painted mirrors
I had my car in the bodyshop today to get the new spoiler painted, and I questioned him on the mirrors. He said that it would require up keep, meaning having them painted yearly or so depending on how bad they got pitted/chipped from road debris/bugs etc. How long have you had yours painted, and have you experienced any chipping of the paint? thanks...

RE: painted mirrors
Get the already painted ones off of ebay or buy the xenon ones and have them painted dont paint the stock ones because of the plasticy and grain feel to it it just wont look right.

RE: painted mirrors
im either too lazy or too busy to do it myself.
i had the guys at gas sand them down and paint them up for me with my side scoops. if you sand them down properly, and treat it correctly before painting you wont have any issues with chipping.
granted, ive had them on for all of 2-3 months, but i haven't had any issues yet.
just do your research and spend the good money to get it done right the first time.

The texture shouldn't come into play on the outcome of the paint job. If you prep accordingly and use the proper additives and paint you will be fine + you'll save lots more money.
