If you were keeping those black side stripes I'd say keep it black, and maybe paint the rear wing black.
But if you're going to remove those side stripes (do it yourself with a hair dryer like I did) then by all means paint it body color before laying on the racing stripes. Be sure to show us before and after pics!

When i got mine, they were the same price for the black ones as the unpainted so I got them black. After a month, I decided I liked i tbetter painted so I had them painted.

Personally I like it painted with stripes.
This is the aggresive, but gives you an idea of how it looks painted/striped.
