juntech-whatever
QUIT comparing rice to muscle-----QUIT asking why,........... but, WHY don't you own one ? Your "sig" sez you r counting the days until you own one. But, yet, you continue to ask, degrade, compare, and question.

The S197 is PURE, UNABASHED, FAST, ...DETROIT IRON... and FORD did an excellant job doing what they SET out to do. No one at FORD sed, we are out to capture the RICER Market, yet all the RICER wannabees, (like yourself) find fault with this product.

NO other manufacturer offers a "classic body style" for $19,000-$47,000. The MUSTANG is what it is, and I wouldn't want anything else.

Junetech, this car ain't too heavy for you, it's just something you want to "rip on", because you have nothing else better to do.

yea there is plenty of that in our cars

screw less weight, I think the GT's should come factory blown [8D]

you know what, they don't need huge v8s to make power. they've been doing fine with 4s and 6s, giving more then enough competetion to american v8s
I need a favor.......would you PLEASE go into the numerous pity-party threads ("Why are these new mustangs so slow?")that are on here right now and tell them this? GOD.......I'm tired of ppl bitching about the fact that they willing dropped cash down on a 4.6 V8 powered car that doesn't perform like a 6.0 or 6.2 V8 powered car.
the 4.6l is fine, i like it better then those huge 6.0 litre ls2, or ls1 or whatever.
just looking at the history, ford has always been behind in terms of power but they also offer a better handling, cheaper and generally better looking sports car, that stays with the same type of discplacement engine (4.6) and the 4.6 not only keeps up but sometimes will beat those bigger 5.7ls, especially the cobras... which actually the cobras were made to rival the ls1/lt1.

but really the 05 mustangs are not slow in terms of acceleration, capable of mid 13s stock is pretty fast, i mean i can pull on evos and stis from a roll pretty bad.

i think the problem with american cars is mainly the engine, they just keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger, they need to stay with what theyve got and make it better, like the japanese cars or better yet like the european cars, perfect example.. m3, it keeps the same 3.2l engine (well not same, it has variations but its always been a 3.0-3.2litre) and its gone from 240hp to 333hp, america should make more effecient engines (hp/litre) but that would raise the cost of the car, and if the base cost of mustang was 30-35k i would say screw it and get an STI, half the reason the mustang is what it is, is because of its cheap price for what you get (300hp, decent handling, rwd, v8, stunning looks)

3400 lbs isn't that bad considering what the Mustang is. Just remember that ALL new cars are getting heavier. Hell, even a Cobalt sedan weighs 3216 lbs!
