Yea i gotta say either envy or stupidity or a combination of both.

I was with a friend of mine once cruising through town with the cars (my 07 GT and his 85 GT) and a V6 stang pulls up next to me and asks why I changed my badges to read GT, after telling him i did't he would not leave me alone till I could "prove it". The next few lights he kept trying to race me so I pulled into a gas station cause I needed gas anyway and pop the hood for him. It seems the genious watched some show on Speed where they put the Cervinis kit on a V6, and he figured with as much work as I have done to my car it could not be a V8.

See they never think things through.

As far as the wave I do it sparingly, younger guys seem to take it as a sign of "lets race" where a more mature adult driver will take it as a simple "hi, nice car, have a nice day".

I had the same thing happen soon after I got my car. Was just cruising along, not doing anything out of the ordinary. My lane was moving quicker than the left lane and I happened to pass by an 05-06 V6 Mustang...Next thing I know I hear his engine revving, he flies up by me and cuts me off just before the next red light. When the light turns green, he gets over into the left lane and makes a left turn.

I was baffled, still can't figure out exactly what he was thinking...

well i guess ill say something too it goes the opposite way too. Alot of gts i go buy (mainly new edges) but some 05s see me/hear my exhaust sc whine whatever and just take off too. Seems to be the eternal battle between the v6 and v8 mustangs that i was saying we seem to talk about every week here. We should be uniting against the camaros o_O

@$$ holes drive all kinds of cars, even the cool ones! To bad Ford doesn't have an @$$ hole detector that can weed them out and point them in the direction of GM.

I drive a V6, but am completely happy just to be driving
a Stang. I don't like to think that it being a V6 has anything
to do with the subject, I'm sure its just plain stupidity on the
drivers part. I realize there are gonna be some V6'ers out there
who are douche bags toward GT guys just simply cause of envy,
but there are also GT guys who are arragont, and like to be ace holes
to any sixer that drives up just to show some love. But thats the way
it works there are stupid people out there and we can't do anything
about it. I'm just glad there are a few of us in here with enough dignity
and selflessness to appreciate the fact we all drive a Ford Mustang.

Thanks for the replies guys, I guess I should just chalk it up to this guy being an ignorant a$$, not the fact he was in a v6. LOVE THE FORUMS! I spend alot of time here learning about these cars and some of the people who are fortnate enough to own them.!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Did you ever consider the fact that maybe the guy was just an *******?

Every week or so, someone starts a thread about how V6 owners are "jealous" of GT's. [sm=WTFsgign.gif] Sometimes an ******* is just an ******* no matter what he is driving.

In my experience the wave/nod/thumbs up is 50%, most of the time the people are a little surprised. I noticed the same type of thing when I had my Harley a couple of years back, I would wave to all motorcyclists and the ricers would be almost shocked that a Harley guy would wave to them. There are JO's driving everything, remember the old saying do unto others.....
