Default Someone explain this??

OK, not to open another "Do you wave at other Stangers?" but I had the strangest thing just happen to me. So I was on the way home from dinner with my wife just a few minutes ago. I was on a 6 lane road driving in the left lane. Traffic was pretty light. I look in my mirror and see a newer mustang come flying up next to me revving. I'm pretty sure he was a V6 although he cares about his car i.e. custom exhaust (Which sounded pretty good), aftermarket hood, stock v6 rims and tires, etc... so at the next light I look over and give him a "wave" and a "thumbs up" the response I got was him peeling off from the light and cutting me off. I would have pressed the issue further but my wife was in the car with me. Im sure he was a v6, not a pony package or anything. My question is: Do the six shooters get pissed at the GT's? I personally like many of the v6's Ive seen in the forums and have shown nothing but respect. Why would this guy have acted the way he did? We all drive beautiful cars, and they should all be enjoyed as such, but this guy acted pissed at me for being in a GT? I would expect this from a ricer...Someone please help me understand what just happened.

Thanks in advance,
Joel

I had the same thing happen to me with a V6...and he had the pizza delivery sign stuck to the roof of his stang.

A few weeks ago, at the mall, I was parked out in the boonies. As I was walking toward my stang, I noticed a red GT parking next to mine. Guy gets out, does a walk around my car. I'm observing him and getting closer thinking we would share interest in our cars. He sees me coming, gets back in his car. By now I'm standing next to his window, I'm trying to make a jesture to his nice car and he snubs me. Backs up and takes off, not even so much smile back...

So, its not just the 6er's out there ...

NIce car Stowe!

I mean I reallly mean no disrespect, but it seemed kinda silly. I know the v6's can be pretty stout if modded correctly, but I have no idea what this guy has under the hood or on his mind....anyway, thanks for the reply.

Definately jealousy with a hint of excess pride. I think he was trying to challenge you thinking his 6 could own your GT. I have a 6 and I know it has power but not as much as a GT. When I see another stang, I give them all a nod if they are looking my way. But to answer your question, it's jealousy and nothing more and I apologize oin behalf on any 6s that are like this. Trust me when I say I'm just happy to drive a mustang.

My 07 GT is my first Ford ever. And while I have some knowledge and admiration for 60's / early 70's Mustangs, I frankly don't know much about other model years prior to the restyled 05.

Anyway, about a month back I pull up next to a 03/04 Cobra SVT (I'm guessing at the year). I do not particularly like the style of that vehicle, but it was sweet and well taken care of. So as I look over I give the guy a classic "hey you've got a cool car" nod. The guy responds with a classic F*** YOU stare, and when the light changes he tears off.

What's up with that?

Seems that the most recent pre-05 Mustang owners that I've encountered have no love for SN197 cars /owners. Is that right?
