I grew up building '57 Chevy's and other classic cars. It is an unwritten rule to wave or give the thumbs up at another old car no matter the make, model, or year. I guess these a@@holes never learned the rule.

They are probably prior Import owners that had their rearends kicked by real american horsepower and haven't gotten over it.

Keep waving and giving thumbs up-if they don't respond, let them know they are number 1.

I agree with the general sentiment that it was an immature idiot that you encountered. Whatever you do, don't get suckered into doing something like racing on a street where other people could be harmed. At the very least, you wouldn't want to hurt your pony trying to show up some moron.

And if some moron keeps trying to goad you into doing something ill-advised, remember these words from Thomas Jefferson:

"Nothing gives one person so much advantage over another as to remain always cool and unruffled under all circumstances. "

Try it, it really works.

Here's how I deal with those types - when they're revving up next to you, carrying on, etc., I just give them the "brush off" gesture: basically, it's like you're "shooing" a pesky little fly away from your food. It says "don't annoy me, you little **** -- move along and play -- you're beneath me." It happens more often in my Road Runner. I guess hearing that lumpy-cam 440 inspires ricers to want to race or something... idiots.
