There has been a lot of discussion about the whole turbo vs. s/c topic. But if I decide that I want to go turbo, what power adding mods can I do without having to remove them once the turbo goes on? Any chance that a side exhaust can be done with a turbo set up?

 

It depends on which turbo kit you use and how the exhaust hooks to the stock pipes as to whether you will be able to use side exhaust without modifications. I can tell you what you will not be able to use if you go with a turbo and that’s any CAI or Long tube headers.

yes a side exhaust is possible, but it will probably have to be modified once the turbo goes on. you can get a tuner as you will need one to go turbo anyway, and you can do an aluminum driveshaft, gears, etc. the tuner will add some power and torque, but the other two wont. gears will make your accleration faster if you go with shorter gearing, and an aluminum driveshaft or any lighter one for that matter will decrease the rotating mass and put down more power to the wheels by decreasing the drivetrain power loss.
