I could never see myself trading in my Mustang. Now buying another "muscle car" that I like from a different brand is a different story but... getting rid of the Stang, no way! After all, its not a stable without the pony, its just a garage...

What I find funny is we are driving our "new retro designs" but every other car manufacture is still without one. So they are all playing catch up.

If Dodge has any quality control, and they do a good job on the challenger, I would consider trading the stang for it.

I dont care how cool it looks or how fast it is..... its still a GM. [:'(]yuck!
I don't give a damn who is making them: GM, Ford or Honda. To me it don't matter. I don't get such a thing as a car makers loyalty. As long as a car is right, affordable and well done, I would go for it, no matter who made them. In this case, if this TransAm came out at the time when I would be looking for a new car and if I liked it, I would buy it. Some people label themselves as "Ford guys" or "Chevy guys" and I don't really get it. Why to be loyal for a specific brand? For example, if say, Ford bean counters decide to make next mustang a FWD, less hp car due to whatever reasons, like the drop in sales, emmisions, etc (just like in the late 80s Ford was seriously considering that), would you still love Ford ?
Or say, in mid-90s, you label yourself as "Toyota guy" because you bought the Supra.. But now, when the fastest Toyota's car is probably Camry, would you still worship Toyota as much as back then?

GM's product strategy still puts pontiac as the "performance" division (yes that is a debatable statement but a GM statement nonetheless). I cannot believe that they will put out a Camaro and NOT put out a Firebird. In any event it's years away so time will tell (though they might do the Camaro first to see if it will flop or not; but a successful Camaro will yield a Firebird; I'll put money on it).

I do hope that they leave that thunder chicken hood decal right where it belongs.....in the bowels of history.

And, notwithstanding any silly "virtual" tests that car mags may write up, if GM puts their LS2 or LS7 (or any of their current "big" V8's) in these cars, the 2005-1007 mustangs will be exactly where all of the stock 990's and early 2000's mustangs were: BEHIND the camaro SS's and TransAm's of the day. (sorry...they did not make enough Cobras to blunt that painful and embarassing fact.
