Default Went to the Track

Well, my first run was against, I belive to be a 2000 to 2004 Stang GT. Now as I was getting to the finish line I looked in my rear mirror to see where he was at, and he was a good distance behine, thats when my foot came of the gas pedal a little just before I crossed over it....[>:] ( forgot that this wasn't a street race [sm=headbang.gif] LOL) I got a 14.143 and the other Stang got a 16.729, I'm assuming he missed a shift.

Now my second run, was against a WRX [:'(], still all and all held with him better then I thought I was going to, the WRX pulled a 13.109 and I pulled a 13.678.

Only got 2 runs in, the track was PACKED!!, there must of have been 200+ cars there Last night. Now there was another guy running a Stock 06' GT, and his times where 14.5, 14.3, and then a 13.9. Launching at higher RPM's is the trick But all and all to hit a 13.6, and launched at about 1800 RPMs isn't bad with a few bolt-ons [sm=burnout.gif]

Thanks doodad, yeah this was my first time at the track. The other Stock GT (Also Auto) Started like I did, 1000 RPM and worked up. his best run at 2000 RPM was 13.9, and mine was at 1800 RPM and ran the 13.6, hopfully going to go back in 2 weeks, definitly going to try a 3000 launch Also hoping to order a SCT Tuner Monday from BrenSpeed, and hope to have that before going back up
for round 2 [sm=burnout.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]

you are manual right? also when you rev to 3k rpm, be careful, if you cannot launch it right, you will spin and cut crapp 60' i always launch mine around 2600 -3000rpm and cut good enough 60'

good luck for next time..

you can't launch from anything over about 2400 in an auto unless you change out the Torque Converter

Yes, hold the brake and push the gas pedal slowly, if you go over 2K-2.5K RPMs the car will try to spin the rear tires and might cause you to move out of the staging area. I still have to master this technique, most times I just give up and just launch from a dead stop!

Yeah, holding the car to the highest RPM before it breaks is something I'll be working on myself. So 2500 RPM would probably be the highest I could get it at. OH yeah, another quick track Noobie question LOL, Now I did have the Track off, of course, but what about the OD. I ran at the track with the OD on, will this make a difference??
