Default Replace brake light bulb w/shaker1000 in trunk?

Hey there,

One of my brake lights on the passenger side is out and I have the shaker 1000 box in the trunk. Do you get into the light assembly through the back side (in the trunk) or the front side (outside of the car)? The instructions in the owner's manual aren't very descriptive so I thought I'd ask around before I started pulling things apart that didn't need to be pulled apart. I assume that I'll have to unbolt the shaker box to get at the back of the light assembly?

Anyone willing to share some info?

Thanks a bunch! Jaemie

Yes.
I had to have my tail light replaced after it got cracked in an accident and they removed the whole inner lining in the trunk. And then they forgot to put it back together!

I don't know if you'll need a special tool to remove the plastic bolt with the weird head...

Can you access the light bezels to replace the bulbs from inside the trunk or do you have to remove the entire light assembly fromt the car first?

You must remove the plastic cover on the inside of the truck (requires special star wrench) and then 3 bolts that hold the entire tail-light assembly. Then do your bulb replacement.

you do not have to take the shaker out. I put sequential tail lights in w/o taking it out. If you remove the cover like Tinpony mentioned you can get to it. The top bolt is a little tough, but not impossible. Just be careful when you pull the whole tail light assembly out so that you don't scratch the lenses.

I dont have a skipper 1000 so that was not an issue, but YES, be careful when you unbolt the assembly, you need something to rest it on so you dont scratch the lenses..

Thanks guys!

I find it interesting how many people have had to replace the right brake light bulb in the '05's.
