Default warranty question

my friend had 05 rsx type-s and missed 4th and hit 2nd and warped 2 valves! the dealer did somethen and the computer or sumthen showed the deal that he had been shifting at 8k and stuff so they didint replace engine! so i was wandering if my 05gt had anything like that because i have been shifting at 6k all the time and dont want them to find out because my 2nd gear synchronizer is gone and i need them to fix it but dont want them to do the same thing to me that they did to him

Ok you have an 05 with a blown 2nd synchro, my first advice LEARN HOW TO DRIVE YOUR DAMN CAR! 2nd acura will warranty damn near anything, so if they didnt he REALLY fukt up. I work for acura so I see what they will warranty. If you didnt hit your rev limiter, you should be fine. Id check with Ford though, they know that stangs are abused so they more than likly wont warranty ****.

While I agree with everything P Zero said ( especially the part about learning to drive the car ) I don't see what the RPM of the shift would have to do with it failing. The failure is most likely to do insufficient clutching, not the RPM.

There is a code that will set if the PCM ever has to limit engine or vehicle speed. This code will NOT turn your light on. The code can be cleared but it alone is likely not enough proof to deny your warranty claim. The fact that synchros are not known to fail unless abuse is involved is. You would be lucky to get that claim pushed through warranty.

Default RE: warranty question

Is someone saying that if you have hit the rev limiter once, the dealer will detect this and deny any engine warranty work. Don't know if they can detect that but unless they have a count (like hit rev limiter 500 times and car has 5k on it) I can't see how they could deny waranty work if there is just a flag "on" that says rev limiter hit (one or more times). Could have hit the rev limiter once because a family member who borrowed the car once did it. ...or from a prior owner; would be interseting to know what info they can get.. dates and times of occurrences?

Can someone from Ford service clarify this?

Disconnect your battery for a few minutes ( some say 5 minutes, some say 20 minutes ) and it will clear. If you reflash your PCM it will also clear.
