While my 'stang was in for her 5k check-up I had the fuel pump replaced to address the "cruising in 5th air bubble" issue (TSB06-9-9) and the bracket installed to stop the center console rattle (TSB06-4-1) .

So far no dash rattle.

I haven't had a chance to go for a drive of any length to see if the new fuel pump has cleared up the cruising issue but if it does (or doesn't) I'll post the results.

I had the fuel pump replaced as well under the same TSB. I had a very strong hesitation issue after exiting freeways after lengthy cruises (50 miles or more lets say). After the fuel pump replacement I have had numerous long trips to replicate the circumstances. The issue has gone away "to my satisfaction" but not entirely unfortunately. I have had two small hesitations under the same circumstances, but they were notably brief compared to before and the car did not almost want to quit, but rather it picked right up and kept going much more smoothly than before. It seems that the air pocket still formed, but was perhaps much smaller and more readily disippated. On the bright side, since the fix, I have had no hesitation at all numerous times after long journeys upon accelerating from an exit stop, etc. Hence, it is fixed "to my satisfaction", just not quite 100%.


I also had my center console rattle looked at recently by the dealership. They did not reference the TSB for that, but rather installed additional insulation material. It most certainly did stop the rattle though and I love it!
