You are not keeping the car because of your emergency brake lines freezing?! I had to have mine replaced also, but I didnt have to have it towed. I just had to play around a little bit and it broke free.

Well there is more to it than that. I am a single dad and I need something that works better for my kids (something with 4 doors). I cannot have a car that leaves us stranded randomly (three times in one year on a new car is just unacceptable). It was a great ride, but time for me to get something more conservative. I will still have have my Harley for fun cruising when the kids are not around.

yeah mine did it the other day. Easy to alleviate- one blow drier and twenty minutes of your time. I woulg get mine fixed but the car just went out of warranty- 36500ish miles.

I wonder if this issue has been fixed for the 07s? This is my first winter, and I have to park outside on an incline. I wonder if I should/could get away with leaving the parking break off?

Mine did the same thing last week...so I took the car in, and mentioned the TSB about the brakes, and they are replacing the entire parking brake assembly for me free of charge when they become available (low-to-NO stock on the updated versions available in NA because of so many being replaced already). They also told me NOT to use the parking brakes at all during the winter, and to park the car in gear and avoid parking on steeper grades too. Well, that's the 1st glitch with mine, and I only bought it a couple weeks ago now...

Thanks for the reply to WAH, Rupp. She is my wife and she does most of the posting on the stang forums for us. I just found it odd that one of my dealerships service advisers would tell me that the parking brake issue is common for all cars after i asked was this just a stang problem. I called them this morning and they are now doing research on the subject and suppost to call me back on this issue. We will see. If I haven't heard from them in a week or so I will be taking it in with the TSB in hand and asking them in person what is up.

It bothers me that I may have caused my brake to glaze up having to drive the car the 5 - 6 miles to my dealership to have this looked into after work yesterday. If I caused the brake pads or the rotor to glaze I would think those items should be replaced also since this is a known problem of these cars, too.

Again thanks for the quick reply to my wife.

Tejas
that might explain why my 05 mustang was giving off a fire smell when i was driving it on the highway after prying the emergency brake off after several tries

So the drier is used inside the car on the parking brake itself?
