A bunch of companies make aux inp]uts. You hook them up and run the wire to the console. No need for an FM modulator.

PEI makes one for the new ipods that installs behinds the radio, you run a wire into the console and it controls the ipod and all through the radio.

I am just trying to decide whether that is the best way to go as it does not have an aux input, only ipod. So what happens in 3 years when my new ipod is now obsolete? I have to rip the car apart again and pay another 150? yuck.

the aux is available on the 2007 and 08 it is using the cellphone audio input the 2004 to 2006 need to see the rear video system plug in the back to open the port or the pie aux interface
the 3.5mm aux sounds good is loud because we send audio from the ipod,mp3 device that it is amplifierd inside

I have heard that the 2007 mustang models come with the AUX input equipped. Does anyone have a picture of the input? Also, if you have received an '07, please let me know if your Mustang had the AUX Input Jack.

The problem with using the aux input in the car (because you can't charge or control the ipod) and FM transmitters is that they use the (crap) onboard D/A converters on the Ipod. It's never going to sound that good.

The only way to get real digital quality audio into your car from an Ipod, memory stick, etc is to get one of these:

http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=iDA-X001

Got mine on ebay for ~$300 and installed ~$400. 32gb memory stick in the glove box, thousands of songs at my disposal and all 24-bit burr brown D/A converter quality audio. 192k bit rate music sounds as good as a cd and song search play is instantaneous, unlike a cd.

Don't waste your $$$ on anything else.
