Default Tuner question

Yesterday I just put my C&L CAI and predator tune in my '06, Question is, my dealer changes my oil for 30k miles for free, will I need to put the stock tune back in it everytime I go back to the dealer or just for other problems with the car, like warranty stuff?

Go to the Steeda website. There is an article on aftermarket and warranties. I will tell you this. There is a ruling regarding aftermarket add ons. Basically, it states that an aftermarket add on will not void a new car warranty. To void a part of a warrant....yes. If the aftermarket product caused the warranty issue. If your aftermarket tune causes a problem with the computer or the engine...yes. If you have an aftermarket tune and your brake caliper stick.....they should fix them.
Just my 2 cents in.

Yes because if they connect to your cars computer while you have a new tune in it and upload a new program, there is a chance that you will not be able to go back to stock and mess up your computer. also if your ford is really picky they will void your warrinty. so when you bring it in change it back to stock then when you pick it up put it back in. Takes only a few minuted

You shouldn't have any problem with an oil change. I would talk with the service rep before I take it in for any other warranty that might require hooking it up to their diagnostics. If there is a remote chance they might hook it up then flash back to stock, throw on the stock air box . The delaers are all different on htis subject but I expect most have no issue with it unless they have to run diagnostics on the engine.

i am part of the NH mustang club and one of the members brought his pony in for an oil change and they uploaded an update and messed up his computer and then voided his warrenty and then he had to pay to get the computer put back to stock. It sucked and thats why i recommeded the prior. So if you are good with your local ford then you shouldnt have a problem but not all fords are the same.

Everyone should write down the "stock strategy ecm numbers" from their computer. When you get car back plug in tuner & read the strategy. If it is the same it is OK to reload your tunes. If the dealer changed it & you reload tune the car will not run. They can updated code during an oil change it they want. If they do you will have to send tuner back to your tuner and have it reprogramed. I have a SCT and I think that is the way Fred from Evolution explained it to Me.

Thanks for all your input, I guess I will start changing my own oil anyway, to keep from doing all that loading, would prefer to do it myself anyway.
