Very Good! I love a sense of humor! It's nice to see that not everyone on MF is **** Rententive.
pfft, everyone loves **** hear and there.

21 bucks for hood pins?? Can I get a link plz
i wish i could but paul from partscheap sent me an email stating that he found out that the scott drake shelby pins need too much modification to install. they're not made for our GT's but for the frame of the gt-h.

i did. they just adjusted the rubber stops. didn't help much.

i was browsing through a car magazine at the store (road and track i think) doing a comparo/test on under $30k cars and they mentioned in the article that their test car had a disconcerting amount of hood flex...

so, i've just learned to live with it.

So no one has taken it to the dealer for this problem? Just curious what they said.

All you have to do is take a hack saw and make small grooves in the hood hinges. This will ensure that if the car reaches a speed where the hood shake becomes to great, it will simply rip off. This will allow greater ability to see the road ahead which will allow one to continue the process of accerleration. And after all, aren't we all after the same thing here? Visibility is the key!

I'm surprised at all the reports of hoods shaking at high speeds. Is this with the stock hoods or after-market? I read after-market needs hood pins. I've been to 150 and haven't seen any hood shake. Though I'll admit I was focusing on the road rather than my hood. I guess I have another reason to go to 150 now...thanks!

timothyrw - thanks for the response - I have the problem and have read may threads about it but I was just curious what the dealer would do - sounds about right - did it help at all? (I have 900 miles on mine and willl mention it to the dealer when I take it in for the free first time service)

it helped a little bit but the hood wasn't flush with the fenders so i actually lowered it a down a bit for cosmetic reasons.

i don't get the shaking until 85+ now and I dont' typically drive that fast so i've just learned to ignore it.

i was more concerned about the safety of it but reading that road and track (and a lot of people here) had the same problem calmed my fears.
