mine seems the same too in that the paint looks worlds better in person, but I guess so many stangs have that problem
The carbon on the Charger was from Carbon by Design's Automotive division, the wing was from Downforce Engineering. Think what you will about the appropriateness of the wing, I can attest the design is not only functional, but manufactured in the same manner as many control surfaces on mach 1+ aircraft.
The problem with Bash isn't what they produced, it's what they didn't produce. Had you been a part of the conversations, or had seen their original website, what they had advertised and actually solicited funds for was not what they produced.
Much of what they produced isn't much more than a knock off of other designs already existing. One item they listed on their site was headlights just like the GTR and they actually stated 'COMING SOON" on their site and it went further to say you could pre-order, what they used was the JDM lights or a knock off. What would you say had you pre-ordered the lights only to get some JDM lights ?
The 1/4 glass inserts, didn't happen. Tail lights, didn't happen, but you could pre-order all of it. And that's what the bashing was about after SEMA.
The other guy.... well, take that for what it was.

Actually maybe you should go to (since the chances of you driving one are slim to none) a GT race and look at nearly every car there. Many cars run large wings and if they took the time to tune it for the track well great. Examples oh lets see the COVRETTE Z06, um another hum oh ye the DODGE VIPER, and for a nice price round off the AUSTIN MARTIN DB9 ...... ALL of these run extremely large wings and are not F1 cars, and they are all tuned. Oh and BTW, you can tune a lot on a car including a rear wing without a wind tunnel.
just my $0.02

Now after all that do you really think Bash built a car that could actually utilize a "tuned" wing like that? No way, it's just for show it's unnecessary...and it's 100% rice. (which is again my point from the beginning of my original post)
Don't the new lotus's have a huge wing as well... Those cars dont run on huge horsepower but they are so light that they need a big wing to keep its a** on the ground
ORIGINAL: 4wheelkillr
ok so maybe not an F1 car EXCLUSIVELY....but ALL the cars you mentioned were high horsepower tuned cars used specifically and only for racing in as you say (they are not just factory racers)(and none of them come stock with anything more than an appearance spoiler)..."GT races"...even the FR500c doesnt have that big nasty *** spoiler, why? because it's not necessary...you think Bash's car could take an FR500C...not in this lifetime!...My point is a spoiler like that is only a necessary "tuned" racing piece and is worthless on a car like Bash's car...take Justin Burcham's 9 second S197...it doesnt need that grotesque "tuned" wing and it runs 9s!...think bash's car can hand with that one? Not in this lifetime.

Some Grand Am and SCCA classes do not allow the larger wings and some limit it to a stock body, but there are FR500Cs who did add a larger wing. Would I run one on a street car hell no, but theirs is not a street car either.I am not saying they necessarily need it, and I also do not like the way it looks, I just think that if you want to complain then do it right with the right information.
BTW the one of the classes I was looking to build a car for the Grand Am Koni Series, the 05+ Mustang runs in the Grand Sport class which the car is limited to but 1 wing choice and that is the Steeda wing part no: 307-0009 which is the Steeda Race wing. (the large one that you cannot make tunable adjustments to).
I'm sorry I am ranting again, really though,I get that you don't like the wing, so what, I wouldn't ever run it on my show car either. I just want you making the right argument with the right information

... Large wings like that aren't need on any drag race car....
... Large wings like that aren't need on any drag race car....
I cant believe we're arguing about this...the spoiler is Rice, it looks like *** and there's no way THAT car would need it...that's my point...
I never said no car would need it..i just said that car wouldnt need it, and siting examples of much more powerful cars that dont utilize a wing further makes my point that the Bash car would not "need" a "highly tuned" whale-tail mounted on the trunk
i guess we agree on one thing...it looks like butt cheese and we wouldnt put it on our own cars....done end of story.

yeah because Top Fuel and funny cars dont use wings at all do they? be careful with definitive statements like that...

When I said that I was talking about comparable cars, DUDE now you compare it to a Top Fuel car, and oh funny cars run plane spoilers not pedestal wings
And the cars I compared it to are not that high horsepower cars that would be a far reach they run about 500-600hp, not to far off what a GT with a Procharger can run. Have you ever raced a car? I mean other than a 1/4 or 1/8 mile drag race? The mustang dose benefit from a tunable wing in racing, plain and simple. Honestly I have over 7 years racing most of which on road courses, I can say from experience that YES the mustang would benefit. Bash once said they want to be able pull the interior and race the car, and that they had plans to add a legal cage. If this is true than yea they will make use of the wing.Defining the spoiler as "Rice" is not a good thing either, I'm sorry I just think it makes people look ignorant not knowledgeable.
Yea I do agree that I would not want it on my street or show cars...

you said "large wings like that aren't needed on ANY drag car"...obviously you're wrong...
I dont care if you took a ride once in an FR500C...it doesnt change the fact that the big wing on Bash's car is still retarded...
I admit those whale tail spoilers on some cars MAY help...on this car noway...i'm not going to talk physics but 12 sqaure inches of vertical plastic does nothing to help stability on a 3,000 pound car moving at only 150mph...like flattening your palm and pretending to fly it thru the wind out the window of a moving car when you were a kid...even at 100mph you can keep your hand from moving...now imagine if your arm weighed 3000 lbs...it'd be useless...now the wide horizontal part that runs parallel to the trunk sure that may provide some down force...but enough to be noticed on big fat *** cars like this in races under 150mph?...Granted I dont know the real measurements. Put a car in a windtunnel and measure the weight on the rear wheels with no wind and with 150mph wind...how much would the downforce be...I have no idea...although I will admit that even 100 or 200lbs of downforce on a racecar is better than nothing...but on a road course the two numbers are somewhat mutually antagonistic. The faster you go the more force is generated on the wing, however the tighter the turn, the slower the entry speeds must be and the slower the speed the greater the reduction of force on the wing. The wider the turn the faster the speed but the less downforce is needed on the wing since the turn is wider...OBVIOUSLY it's a give and take...
But you're right...I've never been on a road track with my car...only 1/4 mile...however I've been racing 600cc sportbikes for over 8 years now (ending last year when I sold all my stuff) (hence the name 4wheelkillr) so I have more than a basic knowledge of racing...
and don't knock the term "Ricer"...maybe you should trade your car in for an STi and join the crowd if you're a true sympathizer...
Ricer's been a round for a long time, derogatory or not it describes a feud between the fart-can, whale-tail, low CC crowd and the rest of us who like to make real HP...and just like Ford vs. Chevy it's a rivalry that's not going away...the word "Ricer" is not ignorant...it's just a slang to poke fun at our rivals...and it goes BOTH ways...
$hit i wrote all that...what a waste of my/your time....
blah blah blah...yadda yadda yadda
