Mustang Wagon?
I said it before in the other post on this and I'll say it again... The Mustang is the really only good thing Ford has going for itself. If it messes up the Mustang Ford will go under IMO.

I actually think it looks pretty good- because it has the mustang looks, but it would ruin the mustang. it would show that they do not tke muscle cars seriously. that might be chevys (camaro) best marketing tool. " we don't make station wagon muscle cars!"

Ever see a '57 Chevy Bel Air station wagon, rebuilt with a 350 small block pushing 400 hp? Or the Chevy Nomad that's become a collector's item because of its engine size and style? There are quite a few muscle car fans that would be on you like white on rice for that statement.
Dodge even tried this out in the 60's, with a Valiant GT station wagon. It bombed because the thing was hideous, and the Darts were more popular (thank god; my mom used to own a Valiant station wagon that truly was a lemon).
Just don't give it a Mustang name. Call it the Torino, call it the Ranchero wagon...I don't care. Just don't call it a Mustang.
Wait a minute...Pinto had a station wagon! Problem solved! (heavy sarcasm intended; the guy who designed the GT500K Sport wagon owns a 1972 Pinto station wagon).
You can just hear the Ford Execs... "None of our designs are doing well except the Musatng. Hey let's make variants of the Mustang in 4 doors and a wagon. Then maybe we should make an SUV version and a Truck version. This would drive down design costs and increase pofits! " This is WHY FORD IS LOOSING BILLIONS!!! No imagination in design and poor qualtiy execution. Ford wake up. I have studied the auto industry for years in my job and my father was a Ford dealer. These guys are in trouble.
