A friend of mine said his mother in law bought an 05 or 06 GT. He does exhaust work and wanted to know if anyone has installed flowmasters in front of the axle like the old mustangs instead of the axlebacks. How much different will the exhaust sound?

aside from messing up a nice, clean factory system, what would be the point of that? If he wants a "unique" sound there are many different easy-to-install mufflers that will bolt right into place, be easily removable, and won't muck up the resale value. If he wants to remove the cats or play other games, there are also plenty of bolt-up options. But to perform pointless exhaust surgery on a new car just seems.......pointless....

+1. That would make the car drone like crazy, and cause clearance problems.
