To Torsen or not to Torsen

To Torsen or not to Torsen
I have an '07, in Jan I'll fit in a 3.73 gear, car has 800Mi as now, wont get much till then cause I'll be out next week for vacation. The thing is:
I have a Torsen T2 diff (those sold thru FRPP) with little use (no more than 5000Mi) laying around that I took off the older car prior to sell it.
Should I remove an almost brand new stock diff to fit this in? or leave as it is.
That is the question.

RE: To Torsen or not to Torsen
you should sell your 28 spline and spend the money towards a driveshaft... torsen type diffs from what i have heard are amazingly strong and reliable street diffs because they apply torque to both wheels evenly and better then any other diff choice(besides a spool, which is not streetable).
28 spline should fit a 87-04 mustang thought right? how much do you want for it? i'll see if i know anyone, PM me.

Sorry, diff its in Caracas, so it won't be worth of selling.
A driveshaft? I was really impressed by the looks of the stock unit, had an aluminum one on the old car left in the car. Is it worth it?

the stock driveshaft wieghs around 45 lbs and is really clunky because its a two piece. i don't have mine yet, but you'll find it one everyone says its one of the best mods to make your car pull better and feel stronger. plus get 4.10's instead of 3.73's..

Interesting, and who sells these driveshafts?
About the 4.10, I dont do strip, I basically street the car, sometimes highway and eventually some club road racing. Thats why I was thinking about 3.73. Dont want to lose 1st gear.

RE: To Torsen or not to Torsen
Torsens are superior for road racing and applying power in the corners. Some people argue that they are not as good as clutch based posi's for drag racing though as the gears cannot take the wear and tear of the launch over time. The clutches allow a bit of slip and lessen the impact to the drivetrain.
Of course, clutches wear out and can be replaced. The gears either work, or they are broken
