who important is a heat shield on a fiberglass hood?
I have a fiberglass hood with a heat shield, but it won't stay up . there are very few areas to peg it up so in some places I have double sided tape. If I don't need it I'm gonna take it off, but I don't know if it will ruin the paint from the heat.

I dont have one under my fiberglass hood and was told by the dealership and bodyshop that it was totally fine and that i did not need it as my hood is no longer aluminum. Paint looks ok so far.
