Default RE: Vibration

Sounds like a drive shaft issue for sure and based on that link to the other thread it seems to maybe be a bigger issue in cars with the manual tranny.

And by the way my 97 F150 has this vibration issue also and it is also at around the 68-73MPH range makes the whole center console and everything shake like hell. Makes a bottle of water look like someone is has created small storm inside with crashing waves. I have had my tires rebalanced. Driveshaft balanced Run out on rotors checked bearings checked tie rods ball joints and all is well. Now granted my truck is lifted 6" and I am running 35" Mud Terrains but it seems to be at those same speeds and it is very violent indeed so i do have an idea of what you are saying.

Default RE: Vibration

Got the car back Friday dealer installed a driveshaft from another car on the lot 95 percent of the vibration is gone. When the engineering rep comes to town he is going to try to get rid of thelittle
vibration thats left by balancing it. I will say if I bought it like it is now I probably would never noticed it.
Now as soon as there done on goes the cai-underdrives and tuner hell yah!!
Thanks for letting me vent!

all that and we still don't know what model you have!
Help Us help YOU! Please fill out your signature and add it with post of this type. Include year, engine, options and any mods.
If you have a V-6 there is a driveshaft problem that's been documented.
See how easy that would have been?

actually, not to hijack but I just recently had 18" chrome deep dish wheels (Bullits) and 255-45-18 tires all around and I was getting a slight vibration in the steering wheel....so I naturally thought wheel balance...brought it back to installer...he balanced the wheels (in front of me..) 2 wheels were missing he said 50 each....drove it and it was fine...until this morning....wheel vibration back in steering wheel....could the wheels be out of balance again....bent rim? bad tire and it only does it sometimes?? any advice??

After a few weeks of back and forth they changed the transmisson today and vibration is completely gone.Checked at all speeds tonight (smile). This was a pita but well worth the wait now we can mod it.
06 gt auto with no mods and 4,850 miles on it.
Thanks
