Default Future value

I don't know about you guys, but I watch the Barrett-Jackson auction on TV and am amazed that old mustangs, camaros, vettes and Hemi cars are selling for over $100K. Now even though these cars are rare today, they were not so rare back in their day. They cost $4k-$5k in 1960 dollars which is the same as the $25-$30 that our Mustangs cost today. Do you guys think that if we are able to keep our cars in mint condition, that 30 years from now they will also be worth a large amount of money?

Thanks.

Yeah man I second that!
Especially if you have a Saleen, Roush, Cobra, or Shelby.
Save all that documentation.

Yeah - the Barrett-Jackson auction show this last week had the bass dude from Van Halen and Sammy selling their cars for $100,000+ - nice hot rods. I think Sammy threw in a case of his tequila, a signed guitar and then 2 backstage passes to any of his upcoming shows.

I was really amazed by some of these cars and especially when Carol Shelby came up and sold the GT500 rights to one of the first cars made for (I think) $600,000 - along with a matching huge toolbox and some other stuff.

I don't know about our future value (who really does) but the thing I freak out about is in 30 years people may be buying cars at $300,000 - and candy bars will go for $10.00! Damn inflation!

maybe.... but the muscle car market has just recently become a boom market. it could easily go away as fast as it came. don't forget that most of those cars are frame up restorations and that costs $$$$.

ANDyou could have made more money with that $4K-$5k investing in the stock market over 30 years... inflation is a bitch but compounding interest is a glorious thing!

It all depends on what is hot at the time. It's all in the eyes of the buyer and how fat their wallet is. Right now the muscle cars are hot and so is the HEMI.

I have one of the first 2000 new GT's made, and it's Screaming Yellow to boot! (discontinued color). I don't plan on ever getting rid of the car, even for a million dollars some day.

A regular GT won't be worth anything near what you see 60's70's era cars going for. You might see some SVT/Saleen/Roush cars going for big bucks someday.
