Default Owners of new headers a question.

I am debating on putting on new headers but i searched old threads and couldnt find how they do after time. Has anyone had problems with them and had to re tighten, or replace. and Which set has proved itself. Thankyou all

You have to retighten after 1000 miles of driving, then no maintenance. I suggest a dyno tune with them, though.

Make sure you get 304 steel. 409 rusts and they can look bad after some time.

No problems. Retightened after 500 miles and all is well. +1 on the 304. Nothing but 304. (FYI, I think JBA is 409)

Sherwood we were talking about this in my post......can you tell me which turns colors? Is it ceramic or stainless? Someone ( I cant remember who) told me not to get the ones that turn colors when they get hot I cant remember if they told me ceramic or stainless.

The ceramic coated ones should not turn blue. The blueing is caused by excessive heat and the ceramic coated headers run cooler. Mine are coated. Coated 304 Stainless.

Actually the chrome looking ceramic has been known to turn rainbow colors when it gets really hot. just an FYI. The best ceramic coating for headers is a 2000+ degree coating. The chrome ones are I think around 1300 degree and some go to 1700
