ORIGINAL: Black GT

I installed the Noyka 45W fog light bulbs on mine and a few months later one of the black inserts melted and fell off. So they must burn hotter.
Thanks for the response. I'm always leary of brand names I've never heard of before. This is the case with both Luminics and Noyka. I would have to put these bulbs under load and see what kind of amperage they are drawing. Does anyone have any examples where the black inserts have fallen off with the factory supplied bulbs? When the black insert falls off, how does it effect the beam pattern?

I will probably go the same route as LC06GT as these lamps really sit too high for fog lamps. They would be better served as driving lights. This would require a modification to the wiring harness as the fog lamps only come on with low beams and driving lamps are normally used with high beams.

The PIAA kit comes with all the wiring, relay, switch etc. You can wire any way you want easy! I never use high beam so I wired to low beam and did not use the supplied switch, just used input from factory switch to turn on the relay. Some places have a law about driving lights, have to be used with high beam.Unlike the original fogs these cannot be used around any traffic, there just way too good. Almost like pencil beams!

I did the GT500 conversion on my car and later this year the HID's will come available. I think I'm going to hold off for them.
Any idea exactly when they will be coming out. I have an 07 GT and all the parts for the GT500 swap coming in about June... I may hold off on purchasing the headlights.

I have the Silverstars at least 6 months no burnouts so far, and an improvement over stock for sure. Also I think they seem to spread the beam wider than stock.

Please tell us what HID kit works well? Are they high and low beams? Many on EBay and other places are not both[/quote]

The HID kit from stangmods seems to work very well. it doesnt replace the housing like the saleen, and it works fine from what i understand, also about 1/2 the price or less.
Ohfiveride has these, and did a great write-up on them, search for it

I got them on Ebay for 10 dollars shipped and they suck....dont fall for the scam in the since that the bulbs do not live up to the hype on the box. I ended up with silverstars and the output is actually better and brighter and whiter which is what I wanted for the extreme white PIAA fogs that I have from Cervinis.

Anyone have any experience with these?
