Painted my valve covers

RE: Painted my valve covers
Black Beauty, I don't remember waht the brand of paint was. It wasn't duplicolor but it was engine paint rated to 1200 degrees.I chose the only gold color available at autozone when I went there.
Oakman, the powered by ford plenum cover is a simple bolt on. You have to order it with two studs to replace the two top bolts on the throttle body. I have the JET Throttle body spacer on mine and I really wanted to keep it, so I had to modify my plenum cover. I cut the front of the cover off, epoxied two plastic ty-wrap pasties under neath it and threaded a very large zip tie to secure the front of the plenum cover around the throttle body spacer.
The other trick is to remove the studs in the back of the plenum and install them over the plenum cover. By design. the plenum cover simply slips ontop of the two stud in the back of the plenum but this gave very little clearance between the strut bar and the plenum cover. By removing the studs and replacing them over the rear plenum cover tabs, I was able to gain about a 1/2" of clearance and that was more then I needed.
