Had the water problem too . Took it to the dealer twice. I had all the info I could find on this forum. The dealer was very cooperative, and used the threads to help them figure it out. The first visit almost cured the problem. The second visit was the charm. They sealed the firewall / rocker panel seam. They were great to work with. I know others have had problems with their dealers in getting the job done. I will still keep checking the pass side area for as long as I own this car. Never know if it will start leaking again.

I have a 2005 conv. with 40,000 miles. It just started leaking. Have had as much as an inch of water on the front pass. floor and now that its cold, ICE!!! I see these posts are pretty old. Has Ford done anything to service this issue? Are they making repairs out of warrenty? I thought this issue stopped after the cowl leaks in 65-68's. Don't have the odor yet.

Yes there is now a TSB for it. It covers four areas that have been problems. I had a copy of it, but can't find it right now. Perhaps one of the other members can pull it up for you.

I would appreciate any info. I wonder if they will do the fix for free. If not what cost?

Thanks

Ford knows about this problem with the Mustang and has made it a major point to lie to the public about it.

I am a 2 time loser and victim of Ford's piece of crap Mustang ....

2005 Redfire Convertible V6 -Ford was forced by the Better Business Bureau to recover this vehicle after 8 attemptsof trying to fix thewater leak. I was forced to pay approximately $10,000 on "usage" fees AND was required to take a replacementMustang (a 2006 Mustang GT.) As an added insult I was forced to pay sticker for the car.

2006 Tungsten Gray Mustang GT - Ford was given 3 attempts to repair the water leak on the passenger side of this vehicle. Two of the 3 times the car was basically disassembled to look for the leak, however it just ended up getting worse. I gave up after 3 the third time ... I took ANOTHER $7,000 hit and traded the water soaked piece of junk in.

No more Ford motor company junk for me. Quality job #1 ??? Uh huh RIGHT.

As a goof I recently called Ford Customer Care posing as a potential Mustang buyer. I mentioned that I had heard there was a problem with water leaking on into the cabin on the passenger side. I was told that there were NO REPORTS THAT EVER HAPPENING. I then identified myself as a past Mustang owner that had turned in a car to Ford recaimation for the leak problem and had just traded in another Mustang that had the leak problem. I was promptly hung up on.

I have noticed that on the late 06 and 07 Mustyang (not a typo) that they now incorporate a styrofoam sheet over the smart junction box. It looks like this is an after thought to prevent water that MIGHT leak inot the junction box and cause an electrical problem to leak onto the floor instead.
So now if you don't look for it you'll never know you have the leak unless it REALLY soaks your carpet or your car starts to stink. How bout that for Ford engineering ? If you can't FIX the water leak ... lie about it and divert it to the floor. Thenhope the owner gets over 36,000 mi before he discovers the leak. Then Ford can CHARGE to fix it.

Ford continues to lie about the problem and probably will never admit the car was a slapped together, shove it out the door piece of crap that looks pretty. If that was what they were trying to achieve ... they dida GREAT job.

Climate controlled garage ftw! The only rain water my car's ever seen was in it's first week of life. It was delivered to me in the rain..
