Default SER vs GT

I have a buddy (like my little bro) that has a 06 Altima SE-R and he was looking to get some mods to make his car comparable to the late model GT's... same or better. So I post a thread on a nissan forum to ask some questions about the SE-R so that I can get him some mods to help him out as his birthday is coming up. These fools say that the SE-R stock will beat the 05,06, & 07 GT... I know that I posted on their forum but c'mon now we all know that the Altima SE-R wont beat the GT. Am I loosin' it? Or are they smokin' crack?

Prolly a little of both. The SE-R which I believe is a 3.5 L V-6 makes 265 HP, it will easily give a New edge(99-04) a run for its money... A S197 GT Convertable with an Auto and bald tires and 500 lbs of crack in the trunk would give an SE-R a run for its money...

I also would like to point out that the SE-R's don't have a huge aftermarket and don't respond great to mods.

Shortbread:
Can beat a new edge(stock of course) but with mods, the mustang will eat it up and spit it out.
Can't beat a S197, etc.

EDIT: I believe(according to some other info, they weigh 3300 lbs and are FWD... Soooo)

Theyre smokin crack. Its got a 260 hp N/A 3.5 V6. While those arent horrible specs, its certainly not something Id feel bold enough to race a new GT in, maybe an sn95, but not an s197. Not to mention it looks like anus and costs the same as a new Mustang GT.

yeah it is a 3.5 V6 -- I just dont see it taking a 05 & up GT... now when you put it in the light of a vert with bald tires and 500 pounds in the back then maybe close... still the GT I say

I dunno, the SE-R would have a less weight in it then( like 700 lbs) and the way better torque curve of our stangs wouldn't be able to make up... But slap on a CAI, Tune, an Long tubes and you have no worries

All these ricers seem to forget about this one saying, "Horsepower sells cars, but torque wins races." I got in a HUUGE argument, I mean about to throw a punch or two, about what is more important... My friend who drives an 06 civic was talking about how much better the Si's engine was than the mustangs 4.6 3v. He was talking about how it almost beats our cars in the quarter mile and how it has 200 hp!!!

I just calmly replied, yea 200 HP an no torque, no ***** factor, no sound factor(sounds like crap), no style, etc. [8D]

Yea, V-Tec or Very Tall Engine Coolant([8D]) is great for 4-bangers yo!

It is basically overkill on a V-8 [sm=icon_rofl.gif][sm=icon_rofl.gif]
