Default I made an oops.

Ok fellas, here's my problem. I was driving home from work and for some reason I wanted to fiddle with the little plastic grommet on the steering wheel, behind the spokes. There's one on the left and one on the right... and I pushed the grommet into the column I assume, but I can't get it back out. Is there anyway to get it back out? Do I need to take off the steering wheel and take them out that way, and if so how?

Thanks guys.

It's a small circle plastic piece, I assume it's to cover bolts so you can take off the steering wheel? Next time you're in the car, feel and or look behind the spokes of the steering wheel on the left and right side. You'll figure out what I'm talking about.

Not a grommet, more or less a "plug", it does cover the bolt head.
You **&^%%&, I just went out in the gararge, and .....bingo, pushed mine in.!!!
NO problem, take a small , I mean small 1/8" flat head screw driver, and gently work and pry, and it'll pop back out, unless you totally shoved it in there. I can't see how, that could happen, as the plug bottoms out on the bolthead. Took about 30 sec to pop it back to it's natural position, now leave that stuff alone from now on.

Pushing that plug in activates Ford's secret"hipo mode" and instantly gives another 40 hp.
