Default Having the locks changed??

First time poster but wanted to say great forum with a lot of valuable information.

I tried to search but could not come up with anything specific on this topic. My parent's house was recently broken in to and the thieves took a set of keys and fob to my mom's 07 GT. We contacted the dealer we purchased the car from and they told us that we were looking at around $400 dollars parts and labor to have the ignition changed along with the door and trunk, so we setup an appointment drop the car off and after a few hours get a call that it is going to cost $795 to have the work done. We were given a printed quote from the dealer and are going to check with other dealers around here but wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with this and could shed any advice. For that price it seems it would be better to have a 2 way paging alarm installed with a fuel shut offand have a little more secruity than the factory keyless entry system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On a side note, my mom loves this thing. She is coming from a 95 GT Conv. 5spbut loves the way this car drives and the power it has.

Default RE: Having the locks changed??

Where I live, there is a company that does a lot of work for the local Ford dealerships dealing with this. I had power locks, windows and keyless entry done through this company on my '04 Van. Check around, there has got to be a companyin your areathat does the work.

Good Luck!
