hard shifting in automatic
for you guys with an auto tranny, does yours shift pretty hard/jerky? i get jerky shifts pretty much no matter what with it sometimes being smooth. i don't know if it's because of the tune from brenspeed or if it's just normal for it to be like that. it acts as if it wants to shift hard no matter what. like it wants to chirp the tires in almost every low gear. sometimes i almost break my neck if i come to a rolling stop then get back on the gas; almost as if it's slipping a gear.
i talked to brent and he said his 06 auto with less than 5000 or 500 miles does the same thing. i just wanted to ask you guys to see if you guys get smooth shifts or if i should go get it looked at by ford.
btw, i understand that there's more torque with what i'm driving compared to my old 95 v6'er but if there's something wrong, i need to know.

RE: hard shifting in automatic
Its the brenspeed tune, the tune ups the shift pressures by adjusting the solenoid timing. Stock tune these cars shift like silk, canned tunes up the pressures because the tuners think it makes it feel faster. I have questioned how these fr55s trans will hold up with higher shift pressures because they are weaker trans than the 4wr70s they replace, they are more susceptible to rpm flare. I backed my shift pressure off in the SCT to compensate, still have firmer shifts but they dont slam now.

RE: hard shifting in automatic
Fred form Evolution tuned mine and it is a little firmer than stock at partial throttle but at wide open throttle it chirps gears, its perfect. A buddy of mine is transmission builder with 30 years experience & He rode in car before & after the tune and he is amazed at how it works. Ask Brent to adjust partial throttle shift pressure or get a Evolution tune. Fred at Evolution claims best tuning on the planet for autos.

Man I hate the bucking bronco, LOL! Its annoying so a tune wont help eliminate that?
