Does removing the side GT emblem leave fender holes?

Does removing the side GT emblem leave fender holes?
I am thinking of removing my GT side emblems and lowering them into a lower rocker side stripe (like a '67). Is the stock emblem held with two pins? So will removing it leave holes? Thanks.
