Default potential buyer.... heated seat question??

Hey guys I'm 18 and I'm buying a car in May. Since my dad is co-signing he kinda has a say in what I get. I was thinking I want a used 05' GT Vert but I really want heated seats and I hate the way the cheap after market ones look (the UGLY switches) so I was wondering if anyone here knew if you could install the seats and use the same buttons like they have in the 07's like between the defroster and stuff? I live in Cali and a convertible is basically mandatory to have the top down here and it still gets cold. Thanx!

I installed my own from heatedseatkits.com , I put the switch on the side of the seat where the other seat controls are. It still faces up and can be seen if you lean over & look down but the way the switch toggles (round button that rocks one way for high & one way for low & flat for off) you never have to look after you use it a couple of times. I got the H3 extreme as I have a vert & like to ride with top down in the cold. My friend also has an 06 GT & when he saw the switch he thought I bought a new panel for the side of my seat. It really looks like a stock piece. A set of 2 will run you $220.00. I installed in a couple of hours. They are way better than stock as the do not turn off in 10 min like stock do. They will shut off if you are not sitting in the seat. They can be installed without any hog rings or sewing. When I did the backs I just opened the bottom of cover & placed if up inside then pulled tape off to hold it in place. I you go this way PM me & I'll give you some tips to make it go easy.

jmk3 - do you have any pictures of your installed buttons? How long did the total install take you?
I asked the dealership that I go to about getting my 06 upgraded with the Ford kit -- they came up with a ridiculous price of $500 just for the parts

Install took about 4 hrs all together, not that hard. Here is a pic of the switch, it looks upside down but when you are sitting in seat its right.

Mine came with the car as an option I didn't want. Now that I have them, I'd kill someone if they tried to take them out!! Search the forum for heated seats as there seem to be several options
