Default Tire Selection???

I have no clue what the difference is, except like a half and inch in width. What else is the difference?

I did some research and if I am looking at it right, since it's an 18" wheel and I want to lower with Steeda springs, to fill in the wheel well I would be better off with the 255/45? Is that a true statement?

But the 255 would be taller and fill the tire well more?

the numbers mean 45 is the percent of the width that equals the sidewall
so 255*45%=114mm is the side wall
and 275*35%=96mm
so the difference is 2cm in radius or 4cm diameter
